Tap the "+" button on the main screen, enter the transaction details, and select a budget envelope. You can also use the receipt scanning feature (OCR) to automatically extract transaction information from receipts.
Absolutely. All your financial data is stored locally on your device using on-device encryption. We never collect, store, or transmit your personal financial information to external servers.
Currently, Arvo is designed as a local-first app with all data stored on your device. In a future update (Phase 3), we plan to introduce optional end-to-end encrypted cloud sync, allowing you to securely sync data across devices while maintaining zero-knowledge privacy.
Envelope budgeting helps you allocate your income into different spending categories (envelopes). You set a budget amount for each category (e.g., Groceries, Transportation), and when you spend money, it's deducted from the corresponding envelope. This visual approach helps you see exactly how much you have left to spend in each category.
When adding a transaction, tap the camera icon to scan a receipt. The app uses on-device OCR to automatically extract the merchant name, amount, and date. The feature is optimized for Finnish receipts and works completely offline.
Data export features are planned for future updates. In the meantime, all your data remains safely stored on your device.
Arvo is currently optimized for euros (€) with Finnish locale formatting. Multi-currency support is planned for future releases.

Make sure you have granted camera permissions to Arvo in your device settings. For best results, ensure the receipt is well-lit and the camera is focused before capturing.
